James “Barry” Phillips age 57 of Snellville, GA., passed away Monday, January 31, 2022. He was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Beaver Phillips; grandparents, John and Cleo Phillips and A.W. and Jewel Dean Beaver. He is survived by his father, James (Darlene) Phillips; sister, Sherrie (Ted) Smith; brother, Kenny Byrd; nieces and nephew, Tori (Jason) Burkholder, Alex (Matt) Slayton, Johnny (Ashley) Rabon, Madison Byrd, Summer (Ansley) Byrd; great nieces and nephews, Camden and Caroline Burkholder, Mason and Magnolia Slayton and William Rabon. Barry was born in Snellville, Georgia. He was a 1982 South Gwinnett High School graduate. He worked for JE Dunn. Barry was a member of Church on Main, formerly First Baptist Church in Snellville. He was active member of the Snellville Masonic Lodge #99 and a Past Worshipful Master. Barry enjoyed outdoor activities, spending time with his friends and family and was an avid Georgia Bulldogs fan. The service to celebrate the life of James Barry Phillips will be held on Sunday, February 6, 2022 at 2:00 PM at The Church on Main, Snellville, GA. Barry will lie in state at the church from 1:00 PM until the time of service, 2:00 PM, officiating the service will be Pastor Bryan Boyles and Pastor Joe Lewis. Interment will follow at Snellville Historical Cemetery, Snellville, GA. The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 5, 2022 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Tom M. Wages Snellville Chapel, Snellville, GA.
