Barney Osborne Casteel Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Barney O. Casteel passed away Tuesday May 31st 2022 with his wife by his side. He was born in Rockdale County Georgia on June 9th 1947 to His parents Barney R. and Mary L. Casteel. He is preceded in death by his parents Barney R. And Mary L. Casteel, three siblings, Franklin Casteel, Bonnie Ann Walker, and Thomas Casteel; two children, Angela Franklin, and Barney A Casteel (Anthony). He is survived by his wife Teresa Casteel; daughter Tammy Casteel; three siblings, Mary F Whittle, George Hewitt and Wayne Casteel; four grandkids, Nicole Smith, Krae Franklin, Karley Franklin, and Brandon White; eight great grandkids. Kensleigh, Emberleigh, Raeleigh, Kenzy, Macie, Henry, Kyler, and Waylon; as well as several nieces and nephews. Barney was married to his wife Teresa for 45 years. They were married in DeKalb County at the court house. Barney was always smiling no matter the situation. He would make just about anyone laugh with his jokes. He loved teasing his grandkids and great grandkids with his teeth. Barney enjoyed spending time with family especially the time he spent with his brother in law Dennis and sister in law Ronda. Dennis was more of a brother than an in-law to Barney. Dennis was his best friend. Barney proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He served during 1967 and 1968, where he earned numerous medals. Barney lived a long fulfilled life. He is a man no one will ever forget. A Funeral Service honoring the life of Barney will be held on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at 1:00pm at Tom M. Wages Lawrenceville Chapel. Interment will follow at Eternal Hills Memory Gardens.
