Barbara Fruit

Barbara Ann Davis Fruit, age 85, of Snellville, GA passed away on October 15, 2021 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Atlanta, GA, the oldest child of the late Stanley R. Davis and Lillie Belle Holley Davis. She was proud to be a native Atlantan and was a long-time member of First United Methodist Church of Atlanta, where she taught Sunday school for many years. She loved nothing more than spending time with her family, watching the Georgia Bulldogs, and she was affectionately known as “Bobbie” to the many people who loved her.She is a graduate of North Fulton High School, attended Mary Washington College, and graduated from Emory University in 1958. She taught at Morris Brandon Elementary in Atlanta and also substituted in the Dekalb County school system for several years. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Ray E. Fruit; sons, Michael, Thomas (Jenny), and Kevin (Terri); sister, Suzanne Moody (Aaron); sisters-in-law, Ruth Fruit, and Judy Davis; along with 9 grandchildren, Natalie, Griffin, Jackson, Charlie, Davis, Alex, Meredith, Sammy and Fletcher; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her brother, John R. Davis; sister, Yvonne Davis Keen; and brother, Stanley Richard Davis.A celebration of Bobbie’s life will be on Friday, October 22, 2021 at 11:00 A.M., graveside at Westview Cemetery, 1680 Westview Drive SW, Atlanta, GA 30310, with the Rev. Ted Keen officiating.
