Agnes Doster

Agnes Doster, age 79 of Snellville, GA, passed away on Monday, December 4, 2017. Agnes was born in Forsyth, Georgia and was preceded in death by her parents, William and Annie Mae Goodrum, stepmother Hattie Goodrum, brother Cullen Goodrum, sisters Georgia Goodrum, Geneva Peters, and Sue Bunn.She is survived by husband of 61 years, John Robert Doster, son and daughter-in-law, John Derek and Rhonda Doster, daughters and sons-in-law, Tom and Robyn Lotspeich, Scott and Emily Chesser. Grandchildren include John Lotspeich, Gabriel Doster, Hannah Lotspeich, Colt Doster, Matthew Chesser, and Laney Chesser. She is also survived by her sister, Jane Cannon. Other family members include 30 nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews.Agnes worked for 40 years in the Secretary of the Senate office in the Georgia State Capitol. She was an active member of First Baptist Snellville for 45 years. Over the years, she enjoyed singing in the choir, playing hand bells, directing weddings, and teaching 2-year-olds in Sunday School. She was also an active member of The Citizens of Georgia Power and The Ambassadors, a Georgia Power retiree group.She enjoyed traveling, taking grandkids on trips, and spending time with family and friends.The Funeral Service to honor and celebrate the life of Agnes Doster will be held on Friday, December 8, 2017 at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church Snellville with Dr. James Merritt officiating. Interment will follow at Eternal Hills Memory Gardens, Snellville, GA with Rev. Guy Priester conducting the committal service. The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 7, 2017 from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Tom M. Wages Snellville Chapel.
