Snellville Testimonials

Sometimes we all seem to get so tied up in our busy schedules to take time to do those things we should do.
While July 12 only seems like yesterday it also seems to be years ago. One day you have a brother-in-law devoted to your sister as a husband and care giver and the next, gone. It still seems like a dream. But through it all there was one thing that was constant, real, and most of all, reassuring.... the staff of Wages Funeral Home from the first conversation that I had with Chris when we knew that Roy's time was short and we were going to need to prepare. From there, our calls to the funeral home that went to Barbara Peterson were either answered right then or routed to someone that quickly helped us. Our first meeting with Valerie Wages - I can't say enough about the professionalism shown and the warmth that we felt. I have never experienced such a high degree of both at the same time. She displayed this throughout each and ever time we talked or met. The arrival of Bo Roberts at the Hospice Center was the first contact with the funeral home after Roy's death. Bo's approach to taking Roy made both my brother-in-law, Jack, and myself feel at ease with the process. The manner in which he prepared Roy and handled him made both of us feel good. Later, seeing Bo at the funeral was like a reunion and we all felt like he was part of the family. Valerie's role through out the funeral process truly made all of us feel that she was a part of the family. Her kind words, attention to our feelings, and words of encouragement again showed us that we made the right choice. After the funeral at the reception we met Tim Hunter who later brought the flowers to Jan's apartment and stayed and talked to us as if we had known him a long time. At the church after the funeral eating lunch Tom also got to know one of the grandchildren and he made her feel so good during a very sad time.
I cannot truly express in words how I feel about my experience with the staff of Wages Funeral Home. Great, super, service above and beyond, these words just doesn't do justice to the way my family came away feeling. I know that my brother-in-law, Roy, would have been pleased with the way his funeral was handled, from the beginning to the end. I know my sister, Roy's wife, was very pleased in the way everything was handled, down to the smallest detail. I, the brother-in-law and brother, am very grateful that Wages was picked as the Funeral Home to handle Roy's funeral and I will be forever grateful that God saw fit that Wages had the staff that helped us through this time in such a Professional and Heart touching way..
If I can ever help you and your staff in any way, please call on me. If you or any of your staff are ever in Amerces, please call. Each of you seem like family.
God Bless,
Len Hicks

“Chris was considerate and gentle and demonstrated attention to every detail. Ken Hood was so helpful (friend of mine) and thoughtful. Whoever preprared my husband did a beautiful job. I was going to have a closed casket, but my husband looked so nice I decided to keep the casket open. Thank you for helping me through a very difficult period.”

“Everyone is always very nice and helpful. Barbara in the office was excellent. We have known Chris for a long time and he is always sensitive and helpful. The men who came to the house are all very kind and sensitive to the family. Overall – we were very pleased – in the past and just recently.
We miss seeing Mr. Wages Sr. He was always friendly and kind. We hope the people taking his place continue to keep up his excellent standards and kindnesses. Thank you for a job well done during a very difficult time for a family!”

Nicholas Ergle was very helpful. [Nicholas] put no pressure on us, and gave options that helped us make decisions. He showed a good blend of compassion, but would also smile with us as we recalled some good memories of our mother. He made a tough process easier.

Dear Mrs. Wages I would like to thank you and your staff during the recent interment of Mr. Floyd Stinson.
I would like to single out Mr. Jason Jackson as he was very attentive and professional to Mrs. Ouida Stinson during a trying time for her. I realize this is what you do on a daily basis but during such a trying time for Family and friends it is always nice to have such wonderful sincere and attentive people around you.
During the 6-8 PM viewing a young Man I did not get his name came down and whispered he had made fresh coffee and we really needed that. The two young men I saw around with you and Jason were so Professional and were always alert and they are an asset to you and your organization. l am writing on behalf of the family as they were all very impressed, with the entire situation.
It always seemed either you or Jason were there when anything was needed with a quiet reverence and sincerity that is little seen these days. Again thank you and your entire staff for such dignity and sincerity in such a painful time. Please pass on The Family’s thanks to your entire staff.
Sincerely,
Charles Harris (September 29, 2007)
