Mary Jo Bacon McDonald

Mary Jo Bacon McDonald, age 88, of Lawrenceville, Georgia, entered into rest on Friday, December 29, 2017 at Hope Memory Center. She is survived by her brother & sister-in-law, Ray & Joy Bacon of Auburn, GA; two grandsons, Steven Burton of Suamico, WI and Michael Burton (Ashley) of Lafayette, IN; two great grandchildren, Titus and Tinley Burton of Suamico, WI; nieces and nephews. Mrs. McDonald was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Luke Edward “Dan” McDonald, sister, Judy Bacon Jackson, brothers, Bill, Ralph, and Everett Bacon, also her daughter, Marcia Lynn Burton who died on January 26, 2016. Mrs. McDonald was born in Atlanta, Georgia, to Elisha Duncan Bacon and Essie Lee Holeman Bacon. She graduated from Hapeville High School and went to work with the United States Postal Service in the Payroll Department right out of high school where she worked until retirement. She then worked for 10 years at David Brothers Cafeteria. She enjoyed traveling to various time-shares she had, especially in North and South Carolina. A Graveside Service Honoring the Life of Mrs. McDonald will be held Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at 1:30 P.M. at Westview Cemetery, 1680 Westview Drive SW, Atlanta, GA 30310 with Pastor Bill Lake officiating.
