John David Stackpole

John David Stackpole Sr., 68, passed away in his home in Dacula, Georgia on Thursday, June 9th, 2016. A commemoration of John’s love for life and his family will begin with visitation on Friday, June 17th from 6 to 8 p.m. John’s family and friends will continue the remembrance with a funeral ceremony on Saturday, June 18th at 11 a.m., officiated by Chaplain Oshaine Wynter, who gave tremendous courage and strength to John during his most recent hospitalization. Both the visitation and funeral will be celebrated at Tom M. Wages Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Georgia. John was born December, 30th, 1947 in Pensacola, Florida and had a long and successful career in the telecommunications industry – using his intellect and humor to win lifelong friends. On June 23, 1967, John married his high school sweetheart Marjorie Carole Gainer and together they forged a loving and committed partnership stretching for 49 remarkable years. John’s heart was simply too full of love and joy of life. He eventually succumbed to a long battle with heart disease and diabetes – without a single day of pessimism or self-pity. John is survived by his wife Marjorie; his two sons John Jr. of Dacula and William (Bill) of Highlands Ranch, Colorado; his six grandchildren William (Billy), Gabriel (Gabe), Kyle, Kaytlin, Cody, and Cassie; and his sister Brenda Chaffin of Pensacola, Florida. John was preceded in death by his parents William and Mary Stackpole and his brother William Stackpole Jr. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association at www.donatenow.heart.org.
