John "Robert" Hammond, 52, of Monroe quietly passed away the morning of Friday, July 27, 2018 in a private Atlanta hospital after suffering a heart attack the previous evening. Robert was a devoted husband and father, faithful friend, and loving son and brother. He especially enjoyed traveling, camping, and boating with his wife and two young sons. He was a graduate of Georgia State University with a degree in Risk Management and employed as a Senior Underwriter for aviation insurance.Robert leaves behind a loving wife, two children, his mother and maternal grandmother, brother and family, sister and family, a brother-in-law and sister-in-law and their families as well as many extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his father, paternal grandparents, and maternal grandfather.Our deep loss is Heaven's gain and Heaven has gained an angel.A memorial service is pending. We are all so heartbroken and shocked to hear about Robert. Our deepest sympathies go out to his family, friends and co-workers. We will miss talking to and working with him. Robert was such a great guy! Our prayers go out to his family.

My deepest condolences to his family, coworkers and friends. Robert was my "go to guy" for aviation property insurance for many years. He will be missed, he was always extremely helpful, kind and pleasant to work with. I never met him but we spoke monthly on the phone numerous times for years. We always got the job done easily with Robert, he made everything seamless. A true professional. I am deeply saddened at his passing.
