James Edward Roberson Jr

James Edward Roberson, Jr., age 66 of Lithia Springs, GA., passed away Wednesday, January 17, 2018, of colon cancer. He was preceded in death by both parents, James E. Roberson, Sr., and Margaret Frances Roberson. He leaves behind a brother, Steven and his wife Carol Roberson of Snellville, GA; sister, Hattie “Kathy” Mann of Loganville, GA; two nieces, Frances and her husband Chris Neely and Debra and her husband David Klingman; two nephews, Joseph and Daniel Roberson; three great-nieces, Victoria “Little Bit”, Makayla and Payten; and one great-nephew, Kody.Born in Fulton County on January 19, 1951 to James E. Roberson Sr., and Margaret Frances (Sweatman) Roberson. James spent his childhood in Decatur, GA and graduated from Columbia High School in 1969. He then moved to Stone Mountain, GA, Rockmart, GA, and finally to Lithia Springs, GA. He was a member of Local Union 72 for 44 years and retired as a plumber for Fulton County Public Works. James enjoyed collecting coins and traveling. He also cared for his mother for many years and loved his family.The funeral service to honor and celebrate the life of James Edward Roberson, Jr, will be held on Monday, January 22, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Tom M. Wages Snellville Chapel. Burial will follow at 3:00 PM at Fairview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 21, 2018 from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM and Monday, January 22, 2018 from 12:00 PM until the time of service at the funeral home.
