Charles Emory Long

Charles Emory Long, age 81 of Monroe, GA, passed away on Tuesday, May 8, 2018. He is survived by his loving wife, Charlotte Wells Long; two children, Matthew (Angie) James Long and Kimberly (Frederick) Long Stelts; and four grandchildren, Connor James Long, Anna Rose Long, Ava Grace Stelts, and Maddox Emory Stelts.Charles was born in Lawrenceville, GA, to his parents, Edgar & Effie Long. He married Charlotte on October 29, 1965. Charles lived in Stone Mountain, GA, until 1997, and later moved to Monroe, GA. He was a former member of Clarkston United Methodist Church and was a current member of Bold Springs United Methodist Church. Charles entered the plumbing business in 1951, and was owner of Long Plumbing Inc. from 1965-2005. He was also on the Plumbing Board of Dekalb County. He earned a State Heating & Air License. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran, Mason, and Shriner.The Funeral Service to honor and celebrate the life of Charles Emory Long will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Bold Springs United Methodist Church, Monroe, GA. Mr. Long will lie in state Saturday from 1:30 PM until service time. Interment will follow at Chestnut Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Grayson, GA. The family will receive friends on Friday, May 11, 2018 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Tom M. Wages Snellville Chapel.
