Barnard W. Harrison, Jr, age 82 of Snellville, Georgia went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, May 30, 2017, after a long struggle with Parkinson’s Disease and Lewy Body Dementia. He is survived by his devoted wife of 49 years, Wilma Harrison. Barney and Wilma share three children (Scott, Tracie, and David). They also have six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Barnard Wadley Harrison and Erma Morgan Harrison.Barnard was born on October 25, 1934 in Bolingbroke, GA. He then grew up in Macon, GA graduating an all boy’s high school from Lanier Academy. Immediately following graduation he enlisted in the Navy. For his last three years of service he was stationed at Pearl Harbor in Hawaii. After separating from the Navy, he moved back to Macon, GA to work for the 3M Company. Shortly after, 3M transferred Barney to Atlanta, GA as a District Service Manager where he met his wife Wilma. After several years of working together, they decided to go into business together for themselves. They created many wonderful memories traveling overseas for nearly 18 years together with the business. After 40+ years as business owners, they sold the company due to Barney’s disease and declined health to enjoy a few years of retirement.In his spare time Barney enjoyed traveling, movies, and rarely missed an Atlanta Falcons Game. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.Visitation for Barnard W. Harrison will be held, Friday, June 2, 2017 from 10:00 A.M. - 12:00PM at Wages Funeral Home, 3705 Highway 78 West, Snellville, GA 30039 (770-979-3200).
