Anne R. Vondersmith, age 79 of Tucker, GA and beloved wife of William (Bill) M. Vondersmith, Jr., left this earthly realm on February 16, 2018 to be with the angels she loved. She was born in Liberty, SC to J. Ross and Helen J. Richardson on July 12, 1938, and spent her childhood and teenage years there, graduating from Liberty High School in 1956. She is survived by her husband; sons, David (Natalie) Vondersmith and Richard Vondersmith; sisters, Mrs. Sue Bolding, Mrs. Evelyn “Red” Corn, Sandra (Steve) Smith; brothers, Billy (Dorothy) Richardson, Danny Richardson, and sister-in-law Teri Richardson. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Jimmy Richardson, and infant son William M. Vondersmith, III. She also has left her three grandchildren whom she loved so dearly, Julia A. Vondersmith, Steven (Corrine) Vondersmith, and Jessica (Tyler) Dent, and also step-granddaughter Leslie (Eric) Denu. Also surviving are two nieces and a nephew, Amy (Billy) McDaniel, Betsy Morse, and Vincent Plotcyzk, who she helped raise to adulthood after the passing of Bill’s mother. She was very close and loyal to her family in South Carolina, with traditions of reunions and holiday celebrations, which now will be with her in spirit. She was married to Lt. Bill Vondersmith (USAF) of Donaldson AFB in January 1960, in the Liberty United Methodist Church, and after a brief stateside honeymoon went by ship to Europe to meet her husband assigned temporarily in Frankfurt, Germany. This began her Air Force life, and later in Greenville, SC with several Air Force assignments to Germany, and traveling throughout Europe, all in the early 60’s. Spending 17 years as an Air Force wife, she followed, in devotion to duty, the later Air Force assignments of her husband to Savannah, GA, Norman, OK, Warner Robins, GA and Charleston, SC, all the while raising sons and finding new friends wherever she went - of whom are now old friends. After Bill’s retirement from the Air Force, she became civilian wife and partner in her husband’s engineering career, latest in Tucker for 31 years, and volunteered for several years at the Northlake Regional Hospital. Making new friends in the Atlanta area, e.g., the Tucker Newcomers Club and “The Group”, she enjoyed life to the fullest in spite of more recent health problems. Her sudden departure from this realm has left a void for those she loved and who loved her in return. The service to honor and celebrate the life of Anne R. Vondersmith will be held Monday, February 19, 2018, Tom M. Wages Snellville Chapel, Snellville, GA at 1:00 PM.
