Anna Rhea Whetsel

Anna Rhea Keith Whetsel, age 73, of Braselton, Georgia, formerly of Arnold, Maryland, entered into rest on Thursday, October 27, 2016, at Hope Memory Care in Dacula, Georgia, after a gallant fight with Dementia. She is survived by her devoted husband of 54 years, Don C. Whetsel; son and daughter-in-law, Alan Whetsel and Tina Gebhart of Gettysburg, PA; son and daughter-in-law; David and Veronica Whetsel of Arnold, MD; daughter & son-in-law, Leah and Scott Adams of Braselton, GA; and son and daughter-in-law; Devin and Becki Whetsel of Ipswich, MA,; five grandchildren, J. Scottie Adams, Nicolas Adams, Ethan Whetsel, Graham Whetsel, and Naomi Whetsel; four siblings, Joann and Waldo Dorton, Frieda Elam, Larry Keith, and Gary and Teresa Keith; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.Mrs. Whetsel was born on January 5, 1943, in Nikelsville, Virginia to Lillian Vesta Dockery Keith and Stewart Baker Keith. She was a 1961 graduate of Nickelsville High School in Nickelsville, VA. She served as Registrar for George Fox Middle School with over 22 years of service. She attended Grace Independent Baptist Church in Crownsville, MD. Mrs. Whetsel enjoyed antiques, reading, and spending time with friends and family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and loyal friend. She will be deeply missed by all those who knew this wonderful lady.The Service Honoring the Life of Mrs. Whetsel will be held Wednesday, November 2, 2016, at 11:00 A.M. at Tom M. Wages Lawrenceville Chapel with Pastor Jonathan Adams officiating. Interment will follow at 2:30 P.M. at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
